ENTERTAINING, ETIQUETTE AND TABLE SETTINGS

This event will give you all the tools you will ever need to entertain in a formal or not so formal way, but always in grand style. From table settings, to learning how to create beautiful flower designs, to pairing wines to the food you will be serving, to organizational skills.

Several tables will be set from classic elegance to contemporary chic, giving the attendees great ideas on how to entertain with flair. During hors d’oeuvres and during the scrumptious formal lunch, W.R. Tish, former editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine and founder of Wine for All, will talk about wines, and etiquette expert, Liza Reiss will offer guidelines for do’s and don’ts.
 
Following lunch, legendary designer, style-setter and best selling author, Carolyne Roehm, will give a presentation using photos of her dazzling homes from her new book, A Passion for Blue & White,  which will have just been released.  Ms. Roehm will offer tips about decorating and entertaining with what she calls, "nature’s quintessential color combination of blue and white." She will be signing copies of her books, which will be available for purchase.

Presenters:

  Carolyne Roehm for more than two decades has been viewed as one of this country's trendsetters in fashion, elegance, and tastemaking. After an impressive career as one of the fashion world's reigning designers and recognized in her own right as one of the world's best-dressed women, Roehm has now turned her talents to teaching others about flowers, lifestyle, decorating, and entertaining. She has authored numerous books including A Passion for Flowers, A Passion for Parties, At Home and her latest book, A Passion for Blue & White is being released early in November.
  Liza Reiss is president and founder of Power of Etiquette, and president of R-Way Enterprises publishing division. Certified by American School of Protocol, Ms. Reiss teaches etiquette classes to corporate employees, adults and children throughout the tri-state area. 
                                            
  Mary Lou Pappas, a Bedford resident, Mary Lou is a freelance floral designer. Certified in floral design from The New York Botanical Garden, Ms. Pappas is Caramoor’s floral designer in addition to the many weddings, parties and private homes she beautifies.
 
  Marcelle Carpentieri  brings years of entertaining experience and table design by creating beautiful tablescapes to compliment the food being served and create the perfect ambience. A serious dinnerware collector, Ms. Carpentieri lives in Armonk with her family.
   W. R. Tish has been writing and speaking about wine and food for more than a decade, through his firm Wine For All. Previously, for over ten years Tish was the editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine. He also has written on wine and food for many publications, as well as a smattering of Web sites. He enjoys developing custom wine events, ranging from private dinner parties to corporate team-building seminars and focused trade tastings. Tish has served as a regular wine instructor for The Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, and as the auctioneer for the annual Hudson Valley Wine Showcase & Auction.
